Happy spring, everyone!  It doesn’t look much like spring outside our windows here right now, but it’s only a matter of time before the sun comes out and everything begins to turn green.

While new life is stirring in nature, new things are coming together for The Reading Lady!  We’re happy to announce that we have two brand new episodes in post-production, getting ready to make their way to the airwaves.  Kids and parents will get to meet our new author friend, Ken Danczyk, and experience his enchanting book, Grandpa’s Farm.  And we’ll be returning to the work of Katie Hart Smith, this time for some fun with healthy food!

We can’t wait to share these fun books!  So think spring, and be on the lookout for new things from The Reading Lady.

Hi Everyone!

March has decided to “come in like a lion.” We’ve had some snow, not as much as usual, but enough to make travel unpleasant.

A reminder that March is Dr. Seuss month. Today, March 2, would have been Dr. Seuss’s 105th birthday. Why not celebrate with one of Dr. Seuss’s books? I recommend The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, or any one of the many other enjoyable books written by this incredible man. Another way to celebrate would be to visit Seussville at www.seussville.com and enjoy some interactive fun!

I would also encourage you to check out our featured authors on The Reading Lady website. Every one of our authors is talented and enjoys sharing stories with our young readers. So start out the month of March with a good book by any one of our author friends–and don’t forget Dr. Seuss. A great way to begin learning to read.

As I always say at the end of one my episodes, goodbye and good reading!

P. S. I would love to hear your comments.

A New Friend

In: Reading Lady

15 Feb 2009

Hello Everyone!

The New Year has seen more snow than I’ve experienced in a number of years. The new year is also bringing new friends to The Reading Lady. I want to welcome Kenneth Danczyk, author of Grandpa’s Farm. I will be highlighting this selection in March. As you can predict from the title, this book is a true story of life on a farm. I don’t want to give away any more details, because I want you to join me as I share this delightful story with all of my friends. We will also have our good friend Katie Hart Smith with us for some “healthy choices.”

I’m looking forward to another exciting year of stories, lessons, activities, and just plain fun as we join our established friends and welcome new friends on board for more exciting adventures with The Reading Lady.

Look forward to seeing you all!

Merry Christmas

In: Reading Lady

20 Dec 2008

Merry Christmas Everyone!

The Reading Lady has expanded its viewership to over 1,500,000 households, airing on 60+ stations!  Two new episodes are being aired, including our 2008 “Christmas Traditions” episode.  In it, I share my family’s Christmas traditions with children and their families.

In the future, The Reading Lady series is hoping to do more on-location episodes as well as more interactive shows, like Episode 16: “Shimmy, Shimmy” where children are encouraged to stand up and dance along with me.  I’m looking forward to sharing more exciting literature in 2009.

Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
