Christmas Gifts

Well everyone, the Christmas season is upon us and with that comes ideas for gift giving.  As a lover of reading, my suggestion is, or course, “books” for everyone in your family.  For your little ones, Sesame Street and Dr. Seuss are always a good choice to promote early learning.  They are also very engaging and fun to read.  Little Golden books are excellent as well.  Favorites like The Pokey Little Puppy, The Little Red Hen and The Christmas Story are timeless classics that your little ones will enjoy over and over again.  You may want to check out randomhousekids.com to view other titles.

For third graders, stories such as Judy Moody, Little House on the Prairie, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will keep your children entertained and continue to develop their love for reading.  For children in grades 4-5, the classics remain favorites such as Black Beauty, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Charlotte’s Web, and The Trumpet of the Swan to name just a few.  You may also want to check out scholastic.com  for further ideas.

I hope that these suggestions will assist you in finding quality reading for your children this Christmas and throughout the coming year.  I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with joy and great reading!
